Back when I was 5, I wanted to be Spider-man but when I realized that radioactive spiders were a little hard to come by I gave up on that idea. When I got a little older, I dreamed of being a Fireman or an Astronaut. I figured if I couldn't be a super hero maybe I could be a regular hero. As I got a bit older, I really started getting into basketball and I wanted to be like Michael Jordan. When the hard truth hit that I wasn't tall and I stink at basketball, I moved on from that idea. I'm not really sure how I ended up in the IT field. I always loved gadgets and electronics so I guess it was just natural for me to end up where I am now.

Sometimes, I look back and all I wanted to do was be a hero. And that still holds true till this day. My career has varied a little here and there with some rough times and some good times but through it all, deep inside the ultimate goal has always been the same. I just want to be the best at what I do and make a difference in the environment that I work in. I want to be able to end each work day saying that I did something good and helped in a way that people noticed. The truth is I just want to be a hero.

Migrate On-Premises applications to the Azure Cloud resulting in increased agility and flexibility, easing of increasing resource demands, better managing of increased customer expectations and substantial reduction in costs.

Deliver presentations to explain the benefits of cloud services to internal customers and to show how the process of the migration would seamlessly allow for minimal to no downtime.

Migrate VMware environment to Azure VMware Services incurring minimal impact to application owners while reducing operating costs.

Manage incident response, problem resolution, change coordination and required reporting. Manage resource plan and identify resource risks or blockers. Provide leadership guidance and direction to personnel to ensure proper, timely completion of work.

Completed Projects

Cloud Modernization

Launched the move from an on-premises data center to Kubernetes cloud infrastructure resulting in a savings of $2.6m in capital expenditure and a reduced footprint that utilized the available space and hardware more effectively.

Infrastructure Design

Single-handedly coordinated the development and deployment of a small-scale NVR solution for remote Chevron sites to enhance physical security of the campus.

Lift & Shift Cloud Migration

Consolidated and migrated applications by way of lift & shift to Azure VMware Services in the cloud eliminating maintenance costs and saving over $5m annually.

Cybersecurity

Designed and lead a 12-month program to restructure the vulnerable building automation system by adding firewalls and separating the system from the intranet. The restructure system resulted in enhanced security, avoiding cybersecurity incidents, and secured customer data.

Network Segmentation

Stood up a test environment to test two competing network segmentation products. Worked with Application Owners to build policies and test the viability of each product for evaluation. Provided feedback to the Executive branch for decision making purposes.
